Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A massive fire broke out at Hotel Grand Sarovar, owned by MLA Pradeep Jaiswal and located on the Dhule-Solapur highway, around 8 pm on Thursday. The fire caused extensive damage to the hotel, though fortunately, no casualties were reported. On Friday, the forensic team, the electrical department, and the police administration thoroughly investigated the site.

The posh hotel is located near Tisgaon on the highway. Everything in the kitchen, including equipment and electrical appliances, was destroyed in the fire. All items in the bar on the first floor were reduced to ashes. Besides, in the store room on the second floor, hotel mattresses, pillows, sofas, and other furniture were burned to a crisp. Beds, window panes, fans, LED lights, and sofas were also damaged in some rooms on the third, fourth, and fifth floors. The fire was first noticed by a worker Anil Pawar, who was working at the back of the hotel. He immediately turned off the power supply.

A total of 16 external AC compressors were destroyed in the fire. The heat also caused the glass panes of 22 windows to shatter. On the second floor, fibre shades in the balcony were burned, and on the right side of the hotel, the aluminium sheet layer on the exterior melted and fell off.

The hotel employs around 40 workers. At the time of the incident, four to five customers were inside. As soon as the fire broke out, all the staff and customers were safely evacuated, preventing any loss of life.

At the scene, Dilip Pardeshi from the Forensic Department, Shaikh from the Daulatabad Unit of the Electrical Branch, Assistant Police Inspector (API) Manoj Shinde from Waluj MIDC Police Station, along with PSIs Rausaheb Kakad, Balasaheb Andhale, Randhwe, Tandale, and others conducted a site inspection and panchanama.
