After three days of heavy rush at petrol pumps across the city, the situation eased on Saturday as fuel tankers reached all petrol pumps. The crisis is expected to completely resolve by Monday.

During the three-day rush, petrol pumps ran dry, with approximately 6–7 tankers received per operational pump. Several tankers arrived at city pumps late Friday night, while others received supply on Saturday morning. As pumps resumed operations, long queues were seen during the early hours. Similar conditions were reported at Adgaon Fata, Jalna Road, and Adalat Road, where Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum outlets witnessed fewer four-wheelers and heavy vehicles compared to Friday. Tankers also reached pumps across the city and Beed Bypass during the night.

Vehicles tanks filled to capacity

Fearing further shortages, many motorists topped up their fuel tanks. Pump owners said these customers are unlikely to return for 10–15 days, which may help ease crowds in the coming week.

5–6 tankers per pump on Friday

Due to the heavy rush on Friday, each petrol pump received 5 to 6 tankers in a single day nearly two to four times higher than the routine daily supply to meet the sudden surge in demand.

Rush likely to ease by Monday

"The Panewadi fuel depot near Manmad, which usually remains closed on Sundays, is operating this week to ensure uninterrupted supply and prevent any disruption in tanker movement to the city. If steady supplies continue, queues at pumps are unlikely to persist beyond Monday."

- Akhil Abbas, President, Petroleum Dealers Association

Supply to normalise soon

“The situation arose due to advance payments and priority supply to major petrol pumps. With continuous replenishment, the supply will gradually normalise.”

- Pravin Phulari, District Supply Officer
