Aurangabad, June 19:

The local crime branch of the Aurangabad rural police arrested two members of a gang calling a youth at the Sillod - Bhokardan Road and robbing him of Rs 10 lakh on the lure of doubling the money. The police have seized Rs 3,10,455 out of Rs 10 lakh and five mobile phones from the arrested accused Shaikh Harun Shaikh Chhotu (38, Dukhinbar, Juna Jalna) and Aslam Itrahim Qureshi (46, Anandnagar, Nutan Vasahat, Jalna). Another member of the gang Shaikh Bhikan Shaikh Sandu (Bori, Mehkar, Buldhana) is still at large.

Complainant Raju Babulal Shinde (42, Pal, Phulambri) was lured by the accused that they can double his money. They called him at Sillod - Bhokardan Road on June 4 and took his bag containing Rs 10 lakh. They gave him another bag stating that it contained Rs 20 lakh. When he checked the bag, he found that the bag was filled with fake currencies. But, the accused had fled away from the scene until then. A case was registered at the Sillod City police station. PI Bhagwat Phunde, PSI Sandeep Solanke, Ganesh Raut, constable Namdeo Shirsath and others investigated and arrested the suspects. They confessed that they have taken the money and told the name of their accomplice.
