Women and girls in traditional nauvari sarees, nose rings, floral garlands and saffron turbans marked Gudhi Padwa with a vibrant procession organised by Kulswamini Pratishthan in Cidco.
The event featured a 31-ft gudhi, 10 smaller gudhis, floats, band performances and ceremonial guards. Around 400 participants took part, while nine-colour gudhis symbolising Goddess Durga were worshipped. Women and a young girl on horseback drew attention. Founder Vilas Korde said the event aimed at preserving culture and awareness. As part of social outreach, 120 orphan girls from Bhagwan Baba Ashram were invited, felicitated and served a meal. Minister Atul Save, BJP city president Kishor Shitole, chairman Anil Makariye and others attended.
