Kavita Rupekar, the mother of murdered Kalpesh Rupekar demanded capital punishment for the murder case accused.

It may be noted that Kalpesh Vijay Rupekar ( Kranti Nagar) was murdered in front of Kranti Chowk Police Station on the night of February 2. Four accused were arrested in this case.

Address a press conference on Tuesday, Kavita Rupekar said that nothing had left for them in life and they are going to stage a hunger strike with family at the Police Commissionerate on February 28. Kavita Rupekar alleged the police did not arrest the main accused of the case Marathe.

She said, "My young son was pursuing higher education. At the same time, he was selling ‘Vada Pav’ to support the family."

She said that to start a Vadapav shop, he (Kalpesh) had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from Marathe at 10 per cent interest.

“He had also repaid Rs 50,000 with interest. But, for the remaining loan, Marathe, along with accused Vaibhav Malode and others, kidnapped him and tortured him to death overnight. There is CCTV footage of the accused touching Marathe's feet after his murder. The accused spoke on the phone many times at night. Police should seize this CDR and a case be registered against the accused,” she said.
