Holi celebrated with traditional drums, halgi beats instead of DJs

This year, the city truly celebrated a DJ-free Holi. Instead of DJs, the festivities were powered by traditional drums and halgi instruments. On Monday evening, people performed Holi prayers and aartis at various locations in the traditional way. Afterwards, colors were playfully thrown in each other’s name. Many participants were so covered in colors that faces were unrecognizable.

Due to the ban on DJs, popular Hindi film songs like “Holiyan Mein Ud Re Gulal Kahiyo Re Mangetar Se”, “Holi Khele Raghuvira”, and “Rang Barse Bheege Chunarwali” were not heard anywhere.
