Hotelier booked for illegal installation of flex banner

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The municipal corporation’s anti-encroachment section has begun filing cases against individuals putting up unauthorised hoardings and flex banners in the city from Tuesday. The first case has been registered against a hotel owner.

Prapti Jadhav, encroachment inspector of Zone No. 5, filed a complaint at the Cidco Police Station. According to the complaint, on Tuesday morning, sanitation worker Shankar Chavan reported that a hotel owner in the N-8 area, on Venutai Chavan Road, had installed an unauthorised flex on a streetlight. The complaint requested that a case be registered under the City Defacement Act. Police have registered the FIR based on Jadhav’s complaint. Despite this, numerous unauthorised political posters, banners, and hoardings continue to be displayed in the city. No cases have yet been filed against any political figures by the municipal corporation.

Unauthorised banner costs offender dearly

At Satara Police Station, an FIR has been registered against Anis Patel (residing in Patelnagar, Silk Mill Colony) following a complaint by sanitary inspector Reema Malke. While inspecting unauthorised banners with fellow staff, the inspector noticed a banner installed on an electric pole in the name of Anis Patel Mitramandal. Instructions were given to remove the banner, but the individuals failed to comply. As a result, following orders from the municipal commissioner and deputy commissioner, a case was filed against them.

Two accused identified in Mukundwadi death case

Police investigation has gained momentum in the case where a municipal corporation’s sanitary worker died while removing an unauthorised banner in Mukundwadi. CCTV footage from the area and statements from the injured worker have led to the identification of two office-bearers of the Shivshambhu Pratishthan Shivneri Group: Swapnil Ghine and Raghunath Piwal. Mukundwadi Police confirmed this information.

Investigating officer PSI Sachin Wayal recorded the statement of the injured worker receiving treatment at the hospital. Notices have also been issued for questioning others whose photographs appear on the banner. So far, three accused have been identified, including one municipal corporation official.
