Aurangabad, Nov 26:

The central trade unions have called for a nationwide strike on November 26 to protest against the government''s anti-labour policies. A human chain will be formed from Baba Petrol Pump to Dhoot Hospital, said the members in a press conference here today.

Ten central trade unions, except Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, will observe a nationwide general strike on November 26. The members informed that the strike is in protest against the Centre’s policies, such as privatisation of public sector units and new labour and farm laws. Rising privatization, the sale of government property, and the abolition of trade unions have led to widespread dissatisfaction. Subhash Lomte said that workers belonging to all the sectors, except those who are part of essential services, will participate in the strike. APMC will remain closed in the district. Buddhinath Baral announced that the protest will be held in the morning at Paithan Gate, and a total of 1 lakh workers and employees will participate. Senior communist leader Manohar Taksal, Prabhakar Mate of Kamgar Sena, Subhash Patil, Abhay Taksal, Prakash Bansod, Asha workers leader Mangal Thombre, Municipal workers leader Ratankumar Pandagale, Laxman Sakrudkar, Damodar Mankape and Shrikant Fopse were present.
