Aurangabad, July 5:

Hundreds of M Phil candidates who did not submit the dissertation due to some reasons was given one more opportunity by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Monday.

It may be noted that nearly 500 candidates have not submitted the M Phil dissertation since 2013 because of one or another reason, while 200 candidates have been waiting for viva voce even after dissertation submission.

The university issued a notification today giving an extension up to December 2021, considering the Covid situation and students' academic interest. The M Phil was already scrapped with the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP).

Those students who did not submit the dissertation can now do so, but they will have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 along with regular fees.

The notification would help hundreds of candidates for the completion M Phil research.

Deputy registrar of PG Department Dr Digamber Netke said that candidates could submit their dissertation up to December 31, 2021, with a fine of Rs 5,000.

The heads of the respective departments will have to inform such candidates through SMS or email or display the candidates' list.

Meanwhile, Samyak Vidyarthi Andolan had submitted a memorandum seeking an extension of the date for the dissertation submission.
