Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has scheduled the Periodic Assessment Test (PAT) on April 11, 15 and 22. On the same days, the School Education Department has ordered student verification based on exam attendance.

Accordingly, verification will be conducted in 936 private aided and partially aided schools, and 2,084 Zilla Parishad schools across the district. While private schools will be monitored at the district level, verification of ZP schools will be handled at the tehsil level by block development and education officers.

This is the third such verification in the current academic year and holds significance as future staff approvals will depend on it, creating concern among institution heads. Officials from DIET and the education department will visit schools and record actual student attendance in the system. Classes from I to IX and XI will be covered, while data for Classes X and XII will be based on board exam attendance.

250 Private schools to be inspected first

Out of 936 private schools, 250 will be verified on the first day by teams of 136 officials. The remaining schools will be inspected on April 15 and 22. Verification of Zilla Parishad schools will be conducted at the block level.

3.33 Lakh students to appear for PAT

A total of 3,33,015 students from the district will appear for the PAT exam. Question papers have been supplied by SCERT. While some principals and teachers reported shortages, officials said no formal complaints have been received.
