Pathoda, the ideal village has experienced the power change almost after 25 years. The sitting Sarpanch Bhaskar Pere Patil had gained acclaimation as the ideal sarpanch across the country. However, he did not contest the grampanchayat election this time and his daughter Anuradha Pere Patil contested the election. However, the villagers did not accepted her and she had to face the defeat.

The tradition of unopposed elections was hampered at Pathoda during this election. Sarpanch Bhaskarrao Pere Patil’s entire panel faced the defeat. She secured 183 votes while her opponent candidate Durgesh Khokad secured 208 votes. Earlier, eight grampanchayat members have already been elected unopposed now the elections were held for the remaining 3 seats in Patoda, on one of which Anuradha Pere Patil contested.

Bhaskarrao Pere Patil said, I had not contested to give opportunity for the next generation but it is on the villagers to accept them or not, he said.
