Seven shops were reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out near ST bus stand in Kingaon in Ahmedpur tehsil of Latur district in Marathwada on Sunday midnight. No casualty was reported in the fire incident.

According to the police, a short circuit is said to have caused the fire. The owners of the seven shops suffered heavy loss to the tune of Rs 92 lakh in the fire incident. The shops gutted were Vyankatesh Footwear, Marathwada Enterprises and Electronics, Suhag Bangal and Jewellery, Krishna Footwear,Sahara Mobile Shoppy, Arbaz Paan Material while the other was a fruit Stall.

Till the fire fighters reached the spot, all the shops were gutted and reduced to ashes. Mandal officer Sopan Dahiphale and Talathi Hansraj Jadhav conducted the panchnama and submitted a report to their senior authorities. As per information given by Vyankat Hanumant Joshi and Khalil Gafar Khan Pathan Kingao police registered the incident and completed the panchnama. Police head constable Chandu Gokhare is doing further investigation.
