Members of Women’s Wing of Jamaat E-Islami Hind (JIH) demonstrated in front of the district collector office on Thursday in protest against Hathras gang-rape and murder incident.

The agitators demanded that capital punishment should be given to the accused of the case and stern action should be taken against guilty officers. “The false cases registered against those who were helping the victim and agitating in protest should be withdrawn,” they demanded.

The Women’s wing also submitted a memorandum to the district collector.

District JIH Women’s Wing president Fahimunnisa Sk said that harassment cases against women is increasing in UP while incidents of gang-rape and murders are reported from Rajasthan, MP and Telangana States also.

“The Government is raising the slogan ‘Beti Bachav, Beti Padhav’ while at the other end, girls'' harassment was increased.

Khalida Amtul Azis, Ruhina Imtiaz, Nishat Nazneen, Maryam Jameela, Jayshree Shinde, Deepa Walmiki, Bushra Naheed, Waheed Wahab, Shaista Quadri and others were present
