Kerosene dealers’ commission doubled

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The state government has doubled the commission for retail kerosene licence holders from Rs 675 to Rs 1,350 per kilolitre. The order was issued by the food, civil supplies and consumer protection department on April 1.

Amid LPG shortages linked to the Gulf crisis, kerosene distribution has been temporarily resumed for rural ration card holders. The Centre has approved a 3,744 kilolitre quota for the state, with supply routed through old licence holders. For March-April, the district has been allotted 1.44 lakh litres, to be distributed in the first phase across rural areas. Priority and Antyodaya card holders will receive three litres each, said district supply officer Pravin Phulari. The allocation covers 3.87 lakh beneficiaries across nine talukas.
