Aurangabad, March 5:

The Kranti Chowk police arrested a motorcycle thief and seized eight motorcycles stolen from the city and Jalna district. The police are expecting to unveil some more thefts after this arrest. The arrested has been identified as Shaikh Altamash Shaikh Abdul (21, Priya Colony, Padegaon). Altamash is an expert motorcycle mechanic.

PI, Dr G H Darade, said, the motorcycle of Vijay Radhakrishna Pendarkar (Gokulwadi) was stolen on March 2. He lodged a complaint at the Kranti Chowk police station. Meanwhile, the police received information that Altamash and his accomplice had stolen this motorcycle. Under the guidance of PI, Darade, PI Amol Deokar, police team including PSI Santosh Raut, Nasim Pathan, Manoj Chavhan, Aziz Khan, Vilas Wagh, Santosh Suryawanshi, Amol Manore, Devidas Devkar and others arrested Altamesh at Padegaon. During interrogation, he confessed that he had stolen motorcycles with his accomplice Shaikh Sameer Shaikh Sattar (Rapriya Colony). He also told that he has kept the stolen motorcycle at Sameer’s house. The police seized 8 motorcycles amounting Rs 2.15 lakh.
