Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A leopard fell into a well at Halda village in Sillod tehsil of the district on Friday afternoon while searching for water.

A rescue team from the ManwithIndies Foundation, along with forest officials, arrived quickly and managed to rescue the leopard within a short time.

The well which is located in the field of Himmat Bhavrao Gawle had low water levels, allowing the leopard to find support on the rocks inside.

The well, which is 40 feet deep, was under construction, and the absence of a protective wall at the edge led to the leopard's fall. The area is known for its hilly terrain, which is home to various wildlife, including leopards, deer, and nilgai. The rescue team placed a cage in the well at 6 PM to facilitate the operation.

A team from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar led by wildlife rescuers Manoj Gaikwad and Suraj Pankade, executed the plan effectively, with support from Ashish Joshi, Shubham Salve, and Chidambar Kale.

Forest Range Officer from the Ajantha Forest Department Santosh Dodke and Forest Guard H F Syed were also present. After the leopard was rescued, it was examined by medical officials and subsequently relocated to a safe environment.
