Aurangabad, March 30:

The district administration had announced a lockdown from midnight of March 30 and till April 8. But the administration has changed the dates by issuing another circular. As per the revised order issued by the district collector Sunil Chavan and commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta the lockdown will now be from March 31 to April 9.

Pre-scheduled exams will be held during this period. Students are exempted from lockdown. But it will be mandatory to have an exam hall ticket with the student. Also, petrol-diesel will be available at petrol pumps in the city from 8 am to 12 noon for the general public and thereafter only for essential service employees. Therefore, the administration has appealed to the citizens not to crowd petrol pumps. Strict police bandobast and fixed points will be established on all roads and infections under 16 police stations. Homeguards have also been deployed to help the police. The industrial sector has been excluded from this lockdown. All industries will operate according to the rules. Local, inter-district, inter-state transport will continue as per government rules to ensure a smooth supply of industrial goods. At the same time, the distribution of newspapers will continue. Digital and print media offices will also continue to operate as per government regulations. Meanwhile, companies in the IT sector should opt for work from home, the district administration said. Hotels and restaurants are allowed to make home deliveries till 8 pm during the lockdown. All offices will remain open on Tuesday. Considering the increasing prevalence of corona in the city, a strict lockdown will be carried out from Tuesday night. This lockdown will be till April 9.
