Maggots in meal at Covid centre
As per the guidelines given by the state government, corona patients are being given meals, tea, snacks and ‘kadha’ twice from the first day. However, there are occasional complaints of larvae appearing in food. On Monday, at the PES Covid Care Centre, found maggots in the food. Other patients also refused to eat after the incident.
Various contractors have been appointed to provide meals to the patients in the Covid Care Centre run by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). A few days ago, a fight broke out between a patient and a contractor at the Cipet hostel over a maggot in rice. After that, the corporation stopped the services of the contractor concerned.
Meanwhile, a patient complained that maggots were found in the food at the Covid Care Centre, which is now functioning in the PES building. The video has gone viral, showing a red larva in a patient''s meal. The patient also complained that the meal is being served after half past one in the afternoon, it should be provided before one o''clock.
