Aurangabad, Jan 21:

The Maharashtra State University Act Evaluation Committee (MSUAVC) will hold a meeting in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on January 23 for amendment in Maharashtra Public Universities Act 2016.

The panel led by Dr Sukhadeo Thorat (former chairman, University Grants Commission) will hold talks with the vice-chancellors and officers of both the non-agriculture universities of the Marathwada.

Members of the committee Dr Vijay Khole, Dr Baburao Sable, Dr Narendra Chandra (all former VCs), Sheetal Devrukhkar Seth, Dr Tukaram Shivre and Dr Dhanraj Mane (director, Higher Education) will also participate in the meeting.

The committee office-bearers will interact with VCs, pro-VCs, registrars, directors of Board of Examinations and Evaluation and Finances and Accounts Officers between 10 am to 1050 am, with deputy registrars (from 10.50 am to 11.35 am), department heads (from 11.35 am to 12.15 pm), teachers representatives (12.15 pm to 1 pm), principals (1.30 pm to 2.15 pm), Management of colleges (from 2.15 pm to 3 pm), students representatives (3 pm to 3.45 pm), non-teaching staff representatives (4 pm to 4.45 pm).

The committee was set up on October 19, 2020, for amendment of the act. Joint-directors of both Aurangabad and Nanded divisions will also attend the meeting.

Registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi appealed to contact coordinator Dr Pratap Kalavant, desk officer Dr Panjabrao Padul, R R Chavan for any details.
