Maharashtra is the land of brave women: IPS officer Annapurna Singh

Additional superintendent of police Annapurna Singh (IPS) said Maharashtra is the land of brave and capable women and their achievements continue to inspire society.
She was speaking at a felicitation programme organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Sitanaik Tanda in Kannad tehsil by Trimukh Singh Social Organisation with the cooperation of sarpanch Keshav Rathod.
Singh highlighted the contributions of inspirational women such as Rajmata Jijau, Ahilyadevi Holkar, Savitribai Phule, Anandibai Joshi, Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams, urging girls to pursue education and self-reliance.
On the occasion, Smita Wagh, prof Sheetal Sonawane, Nikita Rathod (drug manufacturing officer, Dharashiv) and Saroda Rathod (Maharashtra police, Chalisgaon) were felicitated along with meritorious students.
Sarpanch Keshav Rathod, organisation president Rahul Rathod, secretary Kedar Kulkarni, programme convener prof Kesharchand Rathod, Vinod Sangle, Azhar Shaikh, Disha Panditkar, Bharti Nemnar, adv Saurabh Aute, Eknath Manavatkar, Sachin Ighare and Sagar Nikam were present.
