Aurangabad, Oct 17:

Mahaveetran Company took action against 394 persons in 18 villages in Paithan tehsil for stealing electricity during the last four days.

The power company launched a drive in Marathwada in the current month to curb thefts of electricity.

Many cases of transformers failure and burning have been reported in sub-division of Paithan. Villagers specially farmers have to face inconvenience until the new transformer is installed.

Mahaveetran, which is also facing financial loss because of this, launched the drive in Marathwada. The action was taken against 394 persons in 18 villages including Davarwadi, Dhakephal, Bidkin and Paithan town between October 13 and 16.

Deputy executive engineer of Paithan tehsil Kalyan Randhe and his team under the guidance of Joint managing director Dr Naresh Gite, Chief Engineer Bhujang Khandare, superintending engineer Sanjay Akode, are implementing the drive.
