Pundliknagar Police arrested a man for threatening and abusing a policeman, who tried to intervene in a quarrel at Hanuman Chowk on Wednesday evening.

The arrested has been identified as Rishikesh Ravindra Tanpure (22, Hanumannagar).

Complainant Policeman, Baginath Sahebrao Sangle (32) is posted at the Pundliknagar police station. On Wednesday at around 7.30 pm, he was patrolling on his motorcycle when he saw two boys fighting. He tried to intervene and stopped the quarrel. However, Rishikesh blew cigarette smoke in the face of Sangle and abused him. He also manhandled the policeman. Sangle lodged a complaint against Rishikesh at Pundliknagar police station. PSI, Prabhakar Sonawane, immediately arrested Rishikesh.
