Mangalsutra snatched just outside marriage hall

A 62-year-old woman's gold mangalsutra weighing approximately 4 tolas was snatched by two persons on a two-wheeler on Sunday afternoon near A.S. Club area, as she was returning home with relatives after attending a function. The incident occurred in broad daylight on a busy road. According to the complaint filed by Chhaya Dixit, at around 2.55 pm to 3.15 pm, she had stepped out of the 36 Gun Mangal Karyalay after a function and was walking towards her vehicle when the two-wheeler riders targeted her. The pillion rider swooped in and snatched her gold strip-design mangalsutra from her neck. The estimated value of the mangalsutra is Rs 1.80 lakhs. A case has been registered at the MIDC Waluj Police Station in this matter.
