Aurangabad, June 30:

The Lokmat Group of Newspapers will organise a mega blood donation camp at Lokmat Bhavan on July 2 in memory of freedom fighter and founder editor of ‘Lokmat Group of Newspapers’ Jawaharlal Darda alias Babuji under the ‘Lokmat Raktache Nate' initiative.

Citizens have been urged to participate in a blood donation camp.

The camp would be inaugurated at Lokmat Bhavan, at 10 am on Friday in the presence of dignitaries. Blood donors can enter the venue of the camp through the rear gate of Lokmat Bhavan.

Officers and employees, members of social, voluntary, health and education organisations will donate their blood to save the life of needy patients under the ‘Lokmat Raktache Nate' initiative. Blood banks and their staff members have geared up for the mega blood donation campaign.

District collector Sunil Chavan, commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta, administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Astik Kumar Pandey, Special Inspector general of police K M Mallikarjuna Prasanna, commandant of Bharat Battalion Madhukar Saatpute, dean of Government Medical College and Hospital Dr Kanan Yelikar, vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) Dr Pramod Yeole, chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad Dr Mangesh Gondavale, Aurangabad branch president of Indian Medical Association Dr Santosh Ranjalkar, urged citizens to donate blood in the camp.
