Aurangabad, Nov 9:

A minor age boy was caught red-handed while stealing from a footwear shop situated in Ghasmandi (City Chowk) on November 8 during midnight hours (at 3 am). Meanwhile, the police have launched a massive hunt to arrest an accomplice who absconded from the spot.

According to details, the complainant Mujtab Alam Muzammil Alam owns a footwear shop in Ghasmandi area. On November 8, two thieves broke open his shop at 3 am. He got wind of the incident, and the owner rushed towards his shop. On seeing him, one thief fled away, while Mujtab succeeded in catching one thief who is a minor age boy. Later on, the shop-owner handed over the juvenile to the police. The City Chowk police have registered an offence in this regard. Further investigation is going on under the supervision of police inspector Sambhaji Pawar.

During the investigation, the minor age misinformed the police about accomplice in the crime. He gave the name of a person who was undergoing treatment in GMCH. The police learnt that the minor age boy misled them to take revenge from the person undergoing treatment in GMCH as he had quarrelled with him in the past. Meanwhile, the juvenile justice board has ordered keeping the minor boy in the juvenile home for 15 days. Meanwhile, the police have launched a search for the absconding accomplice.
