Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run

A motorcyclist was fatally injured when hit by an unknown vehicle near Paithan. The accident occurred on the Paithan-Shevgaon road near Sonwadi at around 8 pm on Sunday.

The deceased is identified as Akshay Birute (31, Juna Kaigaon, Gangapur tehsil). Severely injured, he was initially taken to a private hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, but succumbed to injuries at 10.30 pm. The body was handed over to relatives on Monday morning, and the last rites were performed at Juna Kaigaon at 11 am. He is survived by his father, mother, wife, daughter, brother, and sister.
