The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is grappling with financial challenges due to persistent defaults in bill payments, despite repeated reminders and warnings to consumers.

In a bid to recover mounting dues, officials have compiled a list of the top 100 defaulters, including domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar regional office’s deputy managing director Rahul Gupta has directed officials to prioritize the collection of outstanding amounts from these major defaulters. MSEDCL has intensified its recovery efforts, with Gupta personally conducting meetings with engineers and staff across branches, subdivisions, divisions, and circle offices to accelerate collections. To avoid the unpleasant action of power disconnection, MSEDCL has urged consumers to clear their dues promptly and cooperate with the recovery process.
