Aurangabad, June 28:

The new vehicles given in the city police force will increase the speed efficiency of the policemen, opined the guardian minister, Subhash Desai, during handing over the vehicles ceremony, held at the Police Commissionerate ground on Sunday, dedicated the vehicles to the police force by flagging off.

The city police received 74 two-wheelers from the District Planning Committee (DPC) funds under the 'dial 112 project'. MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, MLA Atul Save, MLC Ambadas Danve, district collector Sunil Chavan, commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta and AMC commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey were present.

Desai said the police department in the state is being modernized. Hence, the city and the rural police are given new vehicles. Earlier, 12 four-wheelers have already been given and now, 74 motorcycles were given through the DPC. The facility will help the force to provide quick and efficient service to the people. The police can reach the spot for the assistance of the people in time, Desai mentioned.

Commissioner of police Dr Gupta made an introductory speech, and he thanked the guardian minister and the DPC members for fulfilling the requirement as per the demand. ACP Vishvambhar Golde conducted the proceedings of the function.

DCP Nikesh Khatmode, DCP Meena Makwana, DCP Deepak Girhe, all ACPs, PIs, PSI, and others were present. The two-wheeler will have a yellow light and a siren. The vehicles will be given to the beat constables of the 17 police stations for patrolling.
