Aurangabad, July 13:

To reopen the schools, Zilla Parishad (ZP) took a meeting of headmasters of Covid free villages on Tuesday.

It may be noted that the State Government issued guidelines for reopening of schools from standards 8th to 12th in Covid free places in the State.

There are 1112 schools from standard 8th to 12th in the district.

A total of 446 Covid villages have 859 schools.

ZP Chief Executive Officer Dr Mangesh Gondavale conducted an online meeting today. Around 650 headmasters participated in the meeting. Sarpanch of different villages were also present.

A seven-member team of each village was set up. The sarpanch of each village will be the committee president while gramsevek will be its member.

Education officer Dr B B Chavan instructed the headmasters to take permission from the committee for reopening the school. The schools will also have to take the consent of parents. Only 50 per cent of students should be called daily, while only one student will be allowed to sit on one bench. Around 859 schools will reopen if the committee of the respective village permits. The Government has not given any instruction about reopening the schools up to standard 7th.
