Aurangabad, Feb 13:

Adv Abhay Manohar Taksal and Dr Manasi Baheti, belong to different castes and professions but, their ideology brought them together.

They are married and live like friends, considering made for each other.

Adv Abhay Taksal said that both of them were working in the same organisation since their childhood. He said that his wife Dr Manasi was district president of All India Students Federation when he was district secretary during their college life.

“We staged agitation on many occasions but never thought that we would marry.

We looked at each other as a comrade in all the activities. It was a love marriage but not as shown in a movie. When my parents took the decision of my marriage,

I proposed to Dr Manasi for marriage. Since her parents too were comrades, she accepted the proposal. We tied the nuptial knot on November 13, 2005,” he said.

However, it was registered marriage memorable as many top and veteran leaders of CPI like A B Bardhan, Govind Pansare blessed them.

“She has no high expectation of house, car or gold jewllery because we decided to live a simple life as per our ideology. Marrying non-comrade partner may have created problems of high expectations for me,” he said.

Adv Abhay, a CPI State Executive Committee member now, said that there were some difficulties from 2010 to 2013 when he was a member on the national level body.

He said it was tough to balance married life and organisational responsibilities for the three years since he had to work in Dehli and travel to different states for the organisation’s works. The couple has a ten-year-old boy now. They were expecting a baby girl when Dr Manasi was pregnant.

He said that he spends quality time with family whenever possible except in an emergency situation. “After marriage, we have responsibilities. I am practising law and she is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu),” he said
