Aurangabad, March 18:

The health administration has administered more than 1 lakh Covid vaccine to the healthcare workers, frontline workers, senior citizens and other persons (ageing between 45 years and 59 years) suffering from co-morbidities in the district. This includes giving the first dose to 86,219 and the second dose to 14,000 persons (total 1,00,219 vaccine).

It may be noted that the Coronavirus vaccination drive commenced in the district on January 16, 2021. As per schedule, the vaccine was given to all the healthcare workers in the first phase, frontline workers in the second phase and the senior citizens (above 60 years) and other citizens (between 45 years and 59 years) in the third phase. The vaccination drive evoked a good response from the citizens. One could see citizens standing in long queues at the vaccination centres.

Status of doses in the district

As per the record, 27,657 healthcare workers took their first dose, and 12,297 took the second dose. Besides, 17,829 frontline workers took their first dose, and 1,703 took the second dose. Lastly, 30,848 senior citizens and 9,885 other citizens (above 45 years) took their first dose in the district.
