Patient treated at GMCH dies after two hours

Aurangabad, Dec 12:

A patient on the complaint of heart pain was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). He was sent home after giving primary treatment, but his condition deteriorated and was taken again to the GMCH in just two hours. The doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The relatives of the patients alleged that he would have been saved in admitted earlier and demanded action against the concerned doctors.

The deceased patient has been identified as Raju More (48, Jaibhimnagar, Town Hall). More complained of a heart pain on Saturday morning and he was taken to the GMCH. The doctors examined him and asked him to go home after giving some tablets to him. However, his condition deteriorated further after coming home and hence he was again taken to GMCH, but it was too late then.

The brother of the deceased patient, Deepak More said that we asked the doctors to admit the patients, but they did not admit him and gave only tablets, he said.

Acting medical superintendent, Dr Syed Ashfaq said, initially it was diagnosed that the patient had non-cardiac pain and hence he was sent home after the primary treatment. However, he died after two hours. The reasons about it need to be investigated, he said.
