Police employee attacks hotel owner with knife over liquor dispute

A police employee, along with his colleagues, attacked a hotel owner with a knife over a dispute related to liquor purchase at a beer bar. The incident occurred around 2.30 pm on Tuesday in Pandhari Pimpalgaon, Adul. The hotel owner and three others were seriously injured.

The incident took place at Kartik Beer Bar, owned by Vasudev Suryavanshi, located along the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Beed National Highway in Pandhari Pimpalgaon. Police employee Nitesh Jadhav from Mukundwadi police station in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, along with three companions, went there to purchase liquor on Tuesday afternoon. A dispute arose over the liquor transaction, which escalated into a physical fight. Nitesh Jadhav reportedly verbally abused and attacked the hotel owner Vasudev Suryavanshi and others with a knife. Those seriously injured include Vasudev Suryavanshi, Nana Suryavanshi, Shubham Suryavanshi, and Sambhaji Kalhore (all residents of Pandhari Pimpalgaon). Jadhav’s companions also assaulted others with blunt sticks, threatening, “We will take care of you.” All the injured were immediately admitted to a private hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for treatment. Following a complaint by hotel owner Vasudev Suryavanshi, a case has been registered at Karmad police station against police employee Nitesh Jadhav and his three associates. Further investigation is underway.

Police employee suspended immediately

Nitesh Jadhav, who is posted at Mukundwadi police station, was on leave from February 1 to 5. After a case was registered against him, the rural police sent a report about him to the city police. Following this, he was immediately suspended. It is also reported that Jadhav was injured in the incident.
