Following recent tensions in Jhalta village, the Chikalthana police on Tuesday appealed to residents to resolve misunderstandings peacefully and maintain harmony. This initiative comes after unrest on Sunday and Monday.

To foster dialogue, the police held a meeting with senior citizens and youth in the village. The trouble began on Sunday when a clash erupted between two groups over a motorcycle entering a procession. The situation worsened on Monday with a mob attacking the family of Gorakh Shinde (53), escalating tensions in Jhalta. In response, the Chikalthana police and the revenue department jointly convened a meeting at the Gram Panchayat on Tuesday to engage with villagers. Authorities stressed that both incidents originated from misunderstandings and urged everyone to maintain unity and uphold the village’s peaceful reputation. PI Ravikiran Darwade, Naib Tehsildar, PSI Samadhan Pawar, former Sarpanch Sanjay Shinde, Badri Shinde, Dnyaneshwar Shinde, and others were present at the meeting.
