Kranti Chowk police have registered an offence against a thief on a charge of robbing wife of a policeman of Rs 1 lakh. The accused had lifted mobile and purse containing ornaments and cash lying on the seat of the car, in Samarthnagar, today at 11.45 pm.

According to the complainant Sandhya Raju Sampal (35, a resident of Shrikrishnanagar), her husband is associated with the Aurangabad rural police. Her parents stay in Hatnur village in Kannad tehsil. Hence, they along with brother arrived in the city in the car to see the doctor on Monday morning. After parking the car on road and leaving her two kids in the car, all of them went to the hospital. The complainant mentioned that her purse and mobile phone were lying on the seat in the car.

After all of them went into the hospital, an unidentified thief, riding a white-coloured moped contacted the children and told them that their mother is calling them.
