Aurangabad, April 11:

“The unity and integrity are facing a threat in the country because of discrimination. Economic discrimination is more severe and this led to educational and social inequality.

The number of billionaires is increasing and the poverty ratio is also going up in the country,” said Krishna Bhoge, former vice-chancellor and divisional commissioner.

He was speaking in an online programme on ‘Indian Constitution and New Education Policy’ organised by Loksamvad Foundation to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on Sunday.

Krishna Bhoge said that all should study the provisions given in the Constitution about education so that all should get it. Senate member of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Dr Ram Chavan presided over the programme.

Bhoge said the GDP on education was three per cent when we got Independence.

"There were suggestions to increase it up to six per cent. But, the current GDP is 3.9 pc,” he added.

Dr Kailas Ambhure proposed a vote of thanks.

Former vice-chancellor Dr B A Chopade, Dr Bhalchandra Waykar, Senator Dr Laxmikant Shinde, Maruti Tegumpure and others were present.
