Aurangabad, May 13:

The real test of newly approved colleges will begin soon since their proposals were sent back to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) for final approval.

It may be noted the university had recommended only 12 colleges proposals and rejected others because of not fulfilling all norms. However, the State Government granted approval to 49 new colleges within the jurisdiction of the university. The Government sent the proposals to the university for final approval for verification.

The affiliation committees of Bamu will visit the spot and verify details like sufficient space, building, laboratory, library, principal’s chamber that was mentioned in the ‘letter of intent.’

The education societies had also submitted an affidavit with the new proposal to the Government.

The vice-chancellor would be held responsible if Bamu sends wrong information about infrastructure to the Government.

When contacted Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath said that the education societies had already submitted details of facilities with the university.

“The affiliated committees will visit the spot as soon as the lockdown ends and verify the information. The university will make a recommendation to the Government on the basis of visit report,” he said.
