Prices of vegetables have come down in the city market by Rs 10, providing a slight relief to housewives.

It may be noted that heavy rains in September and October months caused great damage to standing crops specially vegetables.

This resulted increasing prices of vegetables. Single bunch of Methibhaji was being sold between Rs 15 and Rs 20.

The prices of coriander leaves, cauliflower and cabbage, ladies finger were high. Now, their rates were come down with the arrival of new vegetables.

Grocery shops witness heavy rush of customers in festival season. There is not much rush before grocery shops as shopkeepers are giving home deliver of goods.

Traders said that customers now prefer home delivery of goods. Meanwhile, the Central Government put restrictions of imported items from Turkey who is supporting Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir.

Because of which, price of poppy seeds has doubled. Earlier, the price of per kg of poppy seeds was Rs 500 to Rs 600, today it is above Rs 1200.
