Residential encroachments before Jan 1, 2011 to be regularised
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
The state government has decided to regularise residential encroachments on government land that existed on or before January 1, 2011. Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed the district administration to speed up the process.
An online review meeting was held with officials, attended by MLA Vilas Bhumre, in-charge district collector Sambhajirao Adkune, resident deputy collector Janardhan Vidhate and other officers. The decision will be implemented in all districts except Mumbai. Applications are being invited from eligible encroachers. Only encroachments existing prior to January 1, 2011, and still in existence, will be considered, subject to terms and conditions.
Regularisation Charges
Residential encroachments up to 500 sq ft will be regularised free of cost. For areas above 500 sq ft and up to 1,000 sq ft, 10 per cent of the market value of the excess area will be charged as premium. Commercial units such as flour mills or garages attached to the residence may also be considered for regularisation.
