Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Rs 105 crore revised budget of the Zilla Parishad, often referred to as a ‘mini secretariat,’ for the financial year 2026–27 was presented on Tuesday by chief executive officer Ankit.

The budget had to be submitted to the government before March 27. Hence, it was presented without waiting for elected office-bearers, who can make revisions subsequently. Notably, no section heads (HoDs) were present during the presentation.

The CEO said that the increase in the budget was primarily due to the receipt of Rs 40.43 crore from stamp duty and interest accumulated over the past five to six years. Between 2018–19 and 2023–24, the ZP received Rs 24 crore from stamp and registration fees, along with Rs 26 crore in interest, contributing to the rise in the overall budget. Last year’s budget stood at Rs 73 crore, while this year includes a surplus of Rs 7 crore, allowing newly elected representatives to incorporate additional schemes later.
