Auangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated action against residents not using masks and dumping hospital bio-waste on open space, for the past few months. The administration took action against 6,500 persons and collected Rs 32,000 fine from them.

Corona outburst grappled the city since March. Hence, the administration made use of mask compulsory for the residents. The administration imposed fine of Rs 500 on the residents for not wearing masks. The decision was implemented in the city since May as per the order issued by municipal corporation administration Astik Kumar Pandey. The teams under the guidance of assistant commissioner Nandkishor Bhombe are collecting fine from the residents not using masks.

Bhombe said, action has been taken against 6,569 from May 1 to October 10 and collected fine of Rs 32,000 from them. The action will be intensified in the coming days, he said.

Similarly, action was taken against those spitting on the roads and Rs 100 fine was recovered from them and Rs 150 from those, dumping garbage on open spaces.
