Aurangabad, May 20:

The majority of the elderly persons or senior citizens had taken two doses of the Covid vaccines. However, they expressed that their safety is at stake as the young members of their families are not vaccinated. Hence, they are curious to know when would the administration will give vaccines to them.

The seniors wanted their sons and daughters-in-law to get the vaccine as soon as possible. Presently, the AMC administration is focussing on giving a second dose to persons who had taken the first dose. The vaccination drive for citizens of age 18 to 44 years had been stopped due to a shortage of vaccines. Meanwhile, the majority of the citizens of age 45 years and above had taken their first dose and are waiting for the second dose.

So far, the AMC had vaccinated 2.88 lakh, persons, from the city. In the age group of 60 years and above, 60,414 had taken their first dose and 2,6279 had taken their second dose; in the age group of 45 to 59 years, 81,235 had taken the first dose and 22,528 had taken the second dose and in the age group of 18 to 44 years, only 6,505 persons had taken the vaccine till the drive got halted for an indefinite period.
