Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Muslim brethren will celebrate Shab-e-Barat in the city on the night of February 3 as per the Islamic calendar.
According to the Islamic calendar, Shab-e-Barat is celebrated on the 15th of Sha'ban month. Various mosques in the city have been decorated with electric lights and different religious programmes will be organised at many places.
Shab-e-Barat holds immense significance as forgiveness is granted by Allah on this night. It is called the night of 'Maghfirat' (forgiveness).
After Shab-e-Barat, the month of Ramadan begins. After this night, Muslim brethren begin preparations for the month of Ramadan. Religious leaders will deliver sermons in the mosques on Tuesday night. As every year, programmes will also be held at the main Jama Masjid in the city after the Isha prayers.
