Despite agencies claiming domestic LPG cylinders are available, long queues were seen outside several gas agencies on Thursday. Families with a single cylinder are facing the worst hardship, as delays in refills leave them without an alternative when the only cylinder gets exhausted. In many areas, delivery delays forced citizens to visit agencies for inquiries, adding to the crowd.

Even double-cylinder users are facing issues due to the 25-day booking rule, under which the second cylinder can be booked only after the stipulated period. Many customers have not received booking confirmation messages, prompting them to approach agencies with empty cylinders. Crowds were reported at agencies in Juna Bazar and Trimurti Chowk.

Consumers said even a short delay severely affects single-cylinder households, urging the administration to address their difficulties. Meanwhile, registration for new double-cylinder connections has been suspended, prompting demands from consumers like Khalil Shaikh to resume the process. Consumers said even a minor delay in supply becomes a major problem for single-cylinder households, urging the administration to consider measures to ease their difficulties. “Families with only one cylinder suffer the most during such delays,” said customer Ajinkya Jogdand. Gas agency owner Mangesh Aswar said the Centre and oil companies are prioritising domestic LPG supply, urging citizens not to panic. “Those with a single cylinder face more inconvenience, but refills are available after the 25-day cycle. Currently, only commercial LPG supply has been reduced, affecting businesses,” he said.
