Aurangabad, May 16:

The SSC students from the district have been waiting to get a refund of the examinations fee.

It may be noted that the State Government cancelled the examinations in the COVID situation considering the safety of students health.

There are 1086 schools with 73,249 10th class students belonging to all Boards, including Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Of them, 70,055 who are from the State Board applied for the examinations and paid Rs 2.90 crore fees.

The students should fee after deducting charges of marks memo and certificate.

Former member of MSBSHSE S P Jawalkar has already made the demand of the fee refund.

The Board collected around Rs 415 from each candidate as an examinations fee.

Education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan said that the Government had sought information to refund the fee of drought-affected students.

“However, no no decision about fee refund was taken yet. The further process would be conducted as per the Government directives,” he said.

Students said that the Government should have refunded the examinations fee immediately.

“But nothing was done. A student has to pay a late fee for delay in application form submission. Why not a fine should be given for a late fee refund. We do not know whether the Government would refund the fee. There further problems with our education,” they added.
