Stationary car caught fire in Central Naka area

A four-wheeler car bearing number (MH 20 WY 7463) suddenly caught fire near the parking area beside the Municipal Corporation's Pragati Petrol Pump in the Central Naka area around 11 pm on Sunday. The entire rear part of the car was completely burned in the fire. However, the timely arrival of the fire brigade’s vehicle ensured that the remaining parked cars were safe. Moreover, the nearby petrol pump helped prevent a major accident, it is said.

According to the fire brigade officials, “Based on the information received to them, within just a few minutes, duty incharge Lakshman Kolhe, along with fire personnel Akshay Nagre, Sachin Phule, and driver Kishore Koli, reached the spot with the fire tender. After some time, the burning car was extinguished. There was an electrical DP located next to the car, and a large amount of garbage was piled up behind the parked vehicle. It is suspected that sparking at the DP's location might have caused the fire.

The fuel station is located just a short distance from the spot where the car caught fire. Several other vehicles were parked near the burning car, so the fire could have spread to the other cars as well. Besides, since the petrol pump was nearby, the alertness of the fire personnel helped prevent a major disaster, it is claimed.
