Students Audit Conducted in 1,216 Schools
Lokmat News Network
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The physical enrollment audit of students was carried out at 1,216 schools across the district on Saturday. These included schools under local self-government bodies-- Zilla Parishad (ZP), Municipal Council and Corporation (MC), private aided, and partially aided schools.
However, the Students Portal crashed on the very first day, due to which officials at many schools were unable to upload students' photographs during the verification process.
As per the instructions of the School Education Department, the Primary Education Officer's office had planned the verification for students from Classes 2 to 9. During the Periodic Assessment Test (PAT) examination, officers visited their respective schools and began counting students while taking attendance. Since this process was being carried out simultaneously across the entire state, the portal came under heavy load and crashed. Deputy Education Officer Geeta Tandale confirmed that the same situation prevailed across the state.
The responsibility of verifying attendance in private schools lies at the district level. For ZP schools, various teams were deployed at the tehsil level under the guidance of Block Development Officers and Block Education Officers. For private school verification, teams comprising DIET lecturers, Education Department officials, and Nutrition Department accounts officers were deployed. For rural ZP schools, teams of Panchayat Samiti supervisors, Extension Officers, Centre Heads, Gram Panchayat Officers, and ZP department heads visited schools and verified student attendance registers. Officials were frustrated as they were unable to upload geo-tagged photos of students present in classrooms.

How e Verification Was Conducted
Officials entered classrooms while the examination was underway and verified students by reading out names from the attendance register. The headmaster's login was then opened on the Students Portal, and marks were placed against the names of present students. Uploading a photo of students present in each classroom was mandatory, but due to the portal repeatedly crashing, photo uploads were continuously disrupted.
