Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Members of Swabhimani MUPTA and other unions demanded that Dr Shankar Ambhore should be re-instated as Principal of Kohinoor College, otherwise, they would intensify the agitation.

It may be noted that Dr Shankar Ambhore’s approval as principal was cancelled by the administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) over the rejoining of an assistant professor of Kohinoor College.

A delegation of different unions including Swamibhani Mupta met the vice chancellor on Tuesday and also submitted a memorandum.

During the discussions, VC Dr Vijay Furlari, registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar, deputy commissioner of police Nitin Bagate and other police officers were also present.

The delegation members alleged that the administration cancelled the approval of Dr Ambhore with a vengeance. Others will also meet the VC on March 26.

The leaders of the different organisations including Principal Dr Kishore Salve, Dr Shankar Ambhore, Vilas Pandey, Arun Shirsat, Devanand Wankhade and others warned that if the request is not accepted, a strong protest will be launched against the administration.
