Aurangabad, Nov 24:

Thieves on Sunday snatched a gold chain from a teacher who was going to her home at Paithan road on a two-wheeler with her sister after shopping at Gulmandi. After the incident, the teacher chased the thieves for about two kilometers, but in vain.

Complainant Kiran Vitthal Rane had come to the city on her two-wheeler with her sister and her baby on Sunday afternoon. On her way back home after shopping, she slowed down her vehicle as there was a traffic jam in front of Nath Seeds on Paithan road. Meanwhile, one of the two thieves, who was riding a motorcycle, suddenly snatched the gold chain from Kiran''s neck and speeded away. Kiran and her sister chased them for two kilometers. However, the thieves managed to escape. After the incident, Kiran lodged a complaint at the Satara police station. Sub-inspector Maruti Dasare and his staff rushed to the spot. SI A Shirsat is investigating the incident.
