Aurangabad, April 29:

The Jinsi police arrested a notorious goon stealing motorcycles with the help of a minor accomplices. The police have seized four motorcycles amounting Rs 1.60 lakh from him. The arrested has been identified as Ajay Bhausaheb Gaat (21, Indiranagar, Baijipura).

Under the guidance of PI Vyankatesh Kendre, PSI Vijay Jadhav, constable Ayub Pathan, Sampat Rathod, B P Donbale, Sanjay Gawade, Nandlal Chavan and Shaikh Basit were patrolling when they received the information that notorious goon Ajay Gaat is having the stolen motorcycles. The police team traced him at Indiranagar, Baijipura area. On the advent of the police, he started fleeing away from the scene, but was nabbed after a chase. During investigation, he confessed that he had stolen the motorcycle from Vyankateshnagar with the help of two minor accomplices. He also confessed that he stole three more motorcycles from Jawaharnagar, MIDC Waluj and one other place. The police have seized all the four motorcycles amounting Rs 1.60 lakh.

Gaat is the criminal on police record, two months back he stole valuables from the vehicles parked in front of Apex Hospital including a laptop. He was arrested in this case but was released on bail. He again started his stealing activities after coming from the prison. He was planning to sell these stolen motorcycles and was searching for customers, the police said.
